After several months of work in the north of our coast, Les Deveses has recovered an image that many generations of Dénia did not know. We have heard stories of when the shore of the beach was far away from the first line of houses, and we have even been able to see some old photographs that corroborate this.

The beach of Les Deveses has managed to recover its sand that had been lost for decades after the long overdue regeneration work. And not only has it recovered what was lost in the Gloria storm, but also sand that had not been seen for decades.
Ahora no solo se han recuperado esos pocos metros, sino que los trabajos han logrado recuperar más de 30 metros tras aportar 650.000 metros cúbicos de arena. Parece mentira, pero Les Deveses ahora es una de las playas más anchas de Dénia.
A project that is more than sand
The ambitious regeneration project of Dénia beach has had an investment of 14,459,500 euros. In addition to the sand, two new breakwaters have been created and the height of the existing breakwater has been increased.
In addition to the recovery of the beach, the project includes environmental regeneration measures. This involves the regeneration of the existing dunes and the creation of new dunes where they did not previously exist. For this purpose, the planting of autochthonous species will be carried out and sand catchers known as “bardisas” will be placed. To protect the dunes, flexible fencing will be installed to delimit their perimeter.
Another important aspect of the project is the improvement of access to the beach. They promise to rearrange the existing public accesses as much as possible to protect the dunes and facilitate entry to the beach.
